The Perfect Ending

I felt the smooth sand crawl out from in between my toes. The water welled up around my ankles, and splashed my legs. I took a deep breath of the salty air, smelling the ocean. The sun had painted a pastel orange and pink sunset. Everything was perfect.
I reached into the water and pulled up a smooth stone. I rolled it around my palm, feeling it's sea tossed smooth edges. I heard the birds chirping away their lullabies to the young chicks. The water was cool and refreshing, and relieved me from the hot sun. I reflected on the past few days. Well, let's see. I ate dribbly blackberries, I explored in the woods, hiked along a lillypond, saw a small war museum. I knew that this vacation would come to an end. But at least it was the perfect ending.
