Watson

My dog Watson was really old and it was time for him to go. No doubt about it. It was hard for him to get up. Yep, it was definitley time for him to go. When the vet got to our house I had just gotten off the phone with my best friend. She had always known what to say, and she even made me laugh a little. I was seeing her tomorrow, to go skiing. I heard the doorbell ring, a ring that says "brace yourself, your dog is just about to" The doorbell was inturrupted by his bark. It was a low, rumbly bark that was forgiving and kind.
When the vet was all settled, he gave my dog his first shot. All that it did was make him more relaxed and happy. His face was the same as it was 14 years ago. Energetic, excited and ready to party. The vet had asked to go to the bathroom, and I asked my mom if I could go upstairs. I couldn't stand it any longer. I couldn't see him go. I know that he would forgive us. He always had.
This is Watson at my mom's birthday party!!

The Fault In Our Stars

The Fault In Our Stars
By: John Green
I thought that this was an amazing book. I liked that it incorporated descriptive words, a nice plot line and a strong connection to certain characters. It is a longer book, but really hard to put the book down, so you fly through it. I like John Greens style of writing, which is kind of kid friendly but with adult themes. I think that the chapters sometimes landed on these cliff hangers where you didn't know what was happening, so you just wanted to read on.
Overall, this book was beautifully done. I noticed that this book some mature content, so I would reccomend this book to people who are in 6th - 7th grade and above. I would reccomend this book to anyone who likes sad books and books about cancer. I thought that this was one of the best books that I read this year, and would highly reccomend it.

Hammond's Candy!!

My brother and I were going to Hammond's candy factory for a birthday party. We had arrived at the birthday party 20 minutes late, our cheeks turning crimson red. Maybe I shouldn't have procrastinated going... If only I had just... I was jolted away from my thoughts when my brother tugged on my shoulder. I saw two tables, full to the brim with faces that I hadn't ever seen before. We awkwardly sat down at the table to the right, and smiled toothy smiles to everyone surrounding us.
I waited about 20 minutes sitting in silence with my brother, surrounded by a tornado of laughter and a little bit to loud birthday party talking, with everyone telling stories at the same time. I was starting to get fidgety. We were looking at the clock, acting like we were the police in an instense police inetterogation. After a little bit longer, a young lady came out and said in a peppy voice that it was time to make candy.
We poured chocolate into molds, made peppermint bark and colored some already made chocolate. The party was really fun, but let me just say, I am not the most reliable when it comes to making candy.
You can see the chocolate shortbread that we made!! Its really really good!!

The Secret Lives of Dresses

The Secret Lives of Dresses , by Erin Mckean.
Dora never imagined herself as the glamorous movie stars that she saw in magazines. Until she found the lives of dresses.
I thought that this was an amazing book. I thought that it was very descriptive and described each and every character very well. I thought that the author knew vintage dresses really well, and described each dress very well. I also thought that most of the book was describing flashbacks, and the author did them in a way that didn't make the flashbacks confusing.
What I didn't like about the book was that sometimes it moved a little bit to slowly. Each chapter was about 50 pages, and sometimes the author wrote about a character for the tiniest bit to long, which made me a little bit bored. I also didn't like the start of the book, because it was a little bit confusing and I think that it is important to be really clear in the first couple pages so that the reader doesn't put the book down.
Overall, I really liked this book and would rate it  out of 10 stars.

My Road Trip To Maine!

My family had decided to take a road trip to Maine. We had all gotten used to sleeping in the car, with our bodies contorted in odd places to make them comfortable. We had gotten used to staring out the window, looking at the open planes of Wyoming or Nebraska. We had gotten used to stopping at gas stations and watching tourists buy cheap magnets that would soon be proudly hung on a refrigerator.
The dark had been creeping up on us and we were almost to the old house that my mom had played at when she was a child. The rocks on the road grumbled under the tires. We were all excited, but also exhausted. My brother was draped across the seat, in an awkward position. I woke him up, telling him that we were almost there. We weren't going to stop now. We were almost there. Then the GPS said it.
"your destination is on the left."
I let out a long sigh, a sigh that I had been holding in for the entire trip. A sigh of relief that everybody else felt to. I saw the small blue house standing in front of us. A blue house full to the brim with endless possibilities.
Down here you can see a picture of the blue house that my mom's side of the family owns. We go there about every summer!

Threatened

Luc had led a life of poverty. He had gotten by with the scraps of coins that he found here and there, and the occasional stolen ones. Until the Prof. came along.
Threatened is an amazing story about a boy, named Luc who's mother and sister had died, and his father ran away. Overall, I thought that this book was amazing. There was such great description and adjectives in this book, but still left you wondering about other mysterious things.
I had very mixed feeling about the main character, named Luc, because he stole a lot, but still was in a very bad situation. I also had mixed feelings about the Prof. who seemed very evil at times
but was also kind of the hero in the story.
What I didn't like about this book is I feel like the author sometimes left us hanging to much. For example, you were very confused about who Luc was at first and what was going on. You found out his name in the first 20 pages, which I felt was a little long to wait to reveal who Luc actually is.
I think that people who love animals and adventure would love this book. I liked that it teaches you a lot about Luc's culture and where he is from. I think that I would rate this book 8/10 stars.

YATC

It had been a long day at camp YATC and we were all eager for some hot and oozy s'mores. We had already set up a fire, and the rocks crunched happily under our feet. I was with my two friends, Anabelle and Olivia who giggled with me the whole way to the fire pit. It was cold outside, but the happy kind of cold when you shivered every time that you chuckled and your teeth chattered when you were not talking.
We waited restlessly with our feet dancing with ambition. Everyone was craving a good s'more while chatting with their friends alongside the crackling fire. When it was time for my group to go up, we hastily grasped our sticks, ready to tackle the fire. The fire was welcoming our marshmallows into it. After we took our marshmallows out, we were ready for the chocolate and graham crackers. I bit into the s'more and savored every moment of it. Even though the s'more got into my hair, and sticked to my hands, I still went back for seconds, because no one can resist a crunchy, oozy, good old camp s'more.
