The bus
rocked on the gravelly road, full with ten kids and 12 huge duffle bags. We
were all tingly with excitement, but also nervous to leave home and take on
Wyoming. We saw the flat plains with the cactus like plants. The plants let out
a sweet aroma of rosemary, that drifted into the bus. We sang to pop music, and
chattered with our bus partners all the way to the campground. We weren't thinking about the past or the future. Just living in the present.

Dancing Home
Dancing Home
By: Alma Flor Alda
Margie has finally convinced her classmates that she is American, and all of the bullying has come to an end. But when Lupe, Margie's cousin from Mexico comes along, Margie feels that she has been replaced, and has started to be bullied again, all because of Lupe. I thought that dancing home was a really great book. Sometimes, the writing was to good that it made you feel all of the pain that Margie and Lupe are going through. I liked this book because it teaches you a lot about latin american culture, while having a simple storyline that has a simple plot. If I were to edit this book, I would probably add a little bit more detail to some of the foggy parts, and make a more interesting plot line. I think that people who like to learn about new cultures would love this book. I would rate Dancing Home 3.5/5 stars, for really interesting information about new cultures.

Utah
I stood
before the Utah arches with my class. I thought about how they were formed. How
they were carved by a sculptor that mother nature hired. I watched the sunset
behind the arch, with the pink and the orange mixing like pastels. It looked
like a postcard. My teacher told us that we could climb in. eight excited kids
bolted to the arch, as we weaved through the arch maze.

Mountains!
Just a few
more steps to go, and I would be at the top of the mountain. I would be able to
look down onto the doll – like people as I watched them conquer what I had just
done. I was almost there. I wouldn’t give up even though my legs were aching
and my face was sweating. I kept thinking five seconds at a time. After those
five seconds were up, I would start all over again. Finally, I was there. I
bolted over to a nearby rock, and planted myself in front of the beautiful
view.
I saw
wildflowers and trees, mountains and little creeks. I was proud to conquer this
mountain.

Wasps...
I was about two, and I was waddling down the bays of Mexico. The warm sand tickled my baby feet, and the waves hitting the sand made me feel happy and calm. All the sudden, I saw a bee, trying to conquer the sands of Mexico (It was stuck) I scooped it up, before my mom could tell me not to. The pain pierced my palm, and I started to cry. My mom rushed me to a nearby "emergency station" and they gave me some cream and a band aid to clear it up. I was never so horrified by a bee. And that is why I hate bees. Ewwww I don't like wasps at all....

Swimming!
Where I live pools are everywhere, and just keep popping up like little whack a moles. I was headed to the pool closest to my house, clutching a towel in one hand and my goggles in another. My brother came along to, hoping to work on his laps for swim team. As soon as we got there, I signed in with the young lifeguard, and found a seat to sit at. I opened my book, and started to skim through the words, as my brother slipped in the pool and started to do his laps.
Suddenly, I got hit. The pool water slammed down on me, hitting me like a heavy ton of bricks. I was drenched and my brother was giggling. Turns out some guy decided to do a cannonball. Thats why I never will read books by the pool again.
This looks like such an amazing pool! Except for the wine I guess...

Jamaica
We had been on the flight for about eight hours. The plane was being a pressure cooker, preventing us from soaring into the crystal blue sky. It's even worse when you are excited. So excited that you can't fall asleep, even listening to the low humming of the plane. All the adults manage to though, leaving me to read or knit, and calm the butterflies in my stomach.
As soon as we landed I was practically jumping up and down. We were just about to go to Jamaica! I stepped off the plane and felt the humidity coat my face. I smelled the salt water ocean, and the tropical fruits. This was paradise.
